Take an All-New Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 02.04.21

Welcome to another edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got a set of all-new questions about such topics as world records, fly names, steelhead rivers, and more.

The last quiz was obviously quite difficult, with no perfect scores. The top score was 90%, achieved by Alan Burrows and Dave F. They were followed by an impressive thirteen 80% scorers. The most popular score held steady at 50%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a copy of Kip Vieth’s wonderful new book, The Orvis Guide to Muskies on the Fly. This is an essential primer on fly-fishing for muskies, addressing every requirement of the sport and providing an excellent foundation for years of pleasurable fishing. It includes instructions for tackle selection; casting and presentation; flies; essential knots and how to tie them; successful techniques on rivers and lakes; and much more. Click here to read an excerpt.

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org)–who will receive Vieth’s book–is Sam M, whose score was above average, to which he commented “Not bad!”

Post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great video.

Good luck!

  1. 70% – Thanks in part to a college music appreciation course 53 years ago. Professor Barbara Ballou would be proud of me.

  2. 80% this week. What a great variety of questions.
Xiphoid process should be known by all who have taken a CPR class. Good one.
