Take an All-New Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 02.21.19

Welcome to a new edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, you can take a crack at ten new questions about U.S. rivers, famous guides, fly names, and lots more!

The last quiz was perhaps a toughie, with just one person achieving a perfect score. Give it up for Mike! Three people scored 90%, and the most common score held steady at 50%. I suspect there were lots of folks not willing to post their scores, as well.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive Jay Zimmerman’s great new book The Best Bass Flies: How to Tie and Fish Them, from Stackpole Books. The book features 18 cutting-edge patterns from around the country for largemouth and smallmouth bass, explains how to fish them, and has detailed tying steps.

The winner of our last quiz, and recipient of a cool 50/50 on the Water tee shirt (men’s or women’s) is cody rodrigues. Show your support for inviting more women into the sport. Learn more about50/50 on the Water here.

So post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great book.

Good luck!

  1. 30% Not fair for fly fishers south of Mason-Dixon! (Admittedly, the Falklands and Mexico are south of but like, not in the U.S.!)

  2. 10%. That must be a record. Do I win anything for being that uniformed? Perhaps a copy of everything Rosenbauer ever wrote?
