Take an All-New Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 04.02.15

Welcome to another edition of our trivia challenge, where we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. Here are ten new questions that will tickle the ol’ gray matter on such diverse subjects as Latin names, geography, and angling legends.

The scores on the last quiz represented a historic tumble from the previous week, as we went from forty-four perfect scores to just one, the intrepid Luke S. Just three of you score 90%—Steve B., Paul P, and David Flandro. The most common score was 60%.

The randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz will receive a year’s subscription to Catch Magazine. Our last winner (as determined by random.org) was J.R. Hopson, whose score wasn’t one to crow about.

So, take this week’s quiz, and no matter how well or poorly you do, post your score in the comments below to be eligible to win!

Good luck!

  1. 10%!! Got #3 correct. At least I won’t crack my head open on a rock if I lose my footing while wading! Lol!

  2. Well – I knew 4 and got 4 right. So technically… I got 100% of the guesses wrong?… I don’t know. Happy Easter!

  3. Dang. 100% last time, only 70% on this one. But I want to protest one answer… I’ve always read that, if you fall in a river, keep your feet downstream to protect yourself against obstacles. Headfirst? You could get crushed on a boulder.

    1. Hi Chuck, That’s why the correct answer to that question is “false.” You should NOT have your head downstream. Perhaps you misread the question?
