Take an ALL-NEW Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 04.15.21

Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got ten all-new questions about native fish species, famous canyons and gorges, presidential quotations, and world-record-catch locations. How many can you get (or guess) right?

The last quiz was another tough one, with just a single perfect score. Hats off to Roger, who noted that he “Had to guess on a few.” Strangely, no one got a 70%. The most common score fell back down to 50%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a Bent Rod Badge Hat, which, which is made from recycled materials and features a vintage-inspired patch. (There’s also a redfish version.) This is a new hat in our ever-changing collection of cool lids.

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by the random.org)–who also gets a sweet hat, is Roger, our sole 100-percenter! I’m not sure that has ever happened before–a double winner! Buy a lotto ticket, Roger.

So post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great video.

Good luck!

  1. 70% is becoming average. I guess if I hook 70% of the strikes I get I would enjoy average.
    Great quiz, keep them coming.

  2. 60%. Thanks for this fun learning experience.
Date of Orvis perforated reel, forsooth! 😉
    Good to learn about Montana!
Beldar streamer. Never heard of it.
I fish regularly below Camp Hoover in Virginia and will keep his advice in mind!
