Welcome to another edition of our fly-fishing trivia challenge, where we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing, and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. I was on vacation last week, but I’ve got 10 new questions for you, plus a proposition.
How would YOU like to create a Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge? Fact is, I have plumbed all the corners of my own brain and used up massive amounts of Googling time. After more than 100 of these things, I’m finding it more and more difficult to come up with questions. So I’m throwing it out to y’all. Can you come up with 10 questions that are: challenging without being ridiculously hard, cover a wide range of topics, and aren’t overly biased toward one geographic region? If you think you’ve got ten questions in you, email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. You’ll get your name in lights in one of our most popular weekly posts, plus you’ll get a pack of cool stickers. Any takers?
The scores on the last Trivia Challenge were a bit of an improvement, with 60% being the most common score (up 10%). There was a 600% increase in perfect scores, however, with six folks achieving 100%: Steve Goguen, Thomas F, Kenneth, Pappy_1004, Alex K., and Thomas O’Connell. The winner of our bonus prize was Wiley, who recognized “Gordon Shumway” as the “real” name of the TV character known as Alf.
The randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz will receive a copy of Paul Schullery’s The Orvis Story: 150 Years of an American Sporting Tradition.
The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org) was Salvage, who score a 70%.
So, take this week’s quiz, and no matter how well or poorly you do, post your score in the comments below to be eligible to win a cool book.
