Take an All-New Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 09.11.14

Welcome to another edition of our fly-fishing trivia challenge, where we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing, and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got our very first reader-submitted quiz. Earl Arnold—of the Sespe Flyfishers in Ventura, California—submitted all questions, except number 2, which is mine. (His #2 was too regional.)

Remember: you can submit full quizzes or individual questions by emailing them to monahanp@orvis.com. Each week, one of the question submitters will get a pack of cool stickers.

The scores on the last Trivia Challenge were down quite a bit from the previous week, with 70% and 60% being the most common scores. The number of perfect scores fell for the second week in a row, though, with 4 folks achieving 100%. Congrats to Adam, Kenneth, Steve Root, Paul, and Tom Schultz.

Please read Jerusalem Creek! It’s a wonderful book.

The randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz (and quiz submitter Earl) will receive packet of super-cool stickers.

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org) was Ryan, who fell into that “most popular” range.

So, take this week’s quiz, and no matter how well or poorly you do, post your score in the comments below to be eligible to win a cool book.

Good luck!

  1. 80%, stumped by André Puyans and record redfish. These were also the only 2 answers I had to guess, my luck on guesses has been awful lately!
