Take an All New Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 10.09.14

Welcome to another edition of our trivia challenge, where we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing, and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got 10 NEW questions to make you wished you’d paid more attention when your buddies were talking about fly fishing.

Remember: you can submit full quizzes or individual questions by emailing them to monahanp@orvis.com. Each week, one of the question submitters will get a pack of cool stickers.

The scores on the last Trivia Challenge were a dramatic decline from previous weeks. The average score was a dismal 30%, and there was just one perfect score: All hail Tyler Payne. Two others, Joe L. and Alex K missed just a single question.

The randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz will receive packet of super-cool stickers. The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org) was Kurt S., who scored a 70%, which was pretty darned solid for that quiz, apparently.

So, take this week’s quiz, and no matter how well or poorly you do, post your score in the comments below to be eligible to win some great stickers for your car, boat, guitar, or whatever you want.

Good luck!

  1. 60% – Thanks for doing these quizzes every week. They’re always a fun challenge and a nice mini-highlight of my Thursdays. That said, will the prizes ever be cool stuff again, or is it stickers forever? (Not that I’ll probably ever win, OR that I’d even stop looking forward to the quizzes if the prizes went away altogether)

  2. 40 %. Only question I knew the answer to was the “Mandrel”.

The last year I have scored from 30% to 100%. My average is 70%. Not bad I think since I know nothing about bass, cuthroats or the streams of Ohio… (I am from Sweden.) 🙂
