Welcome to another edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we offer 10 classic questions about famous fly-fishing authors, fly patterns, world records, and more.
The last quiz showed some improved scores, as we had four 100%ers. Give it up for winston, Mike, DWF, and Britt Davenport. A further sixteen(!) people scored 90%, and the most common score jumped up two slots to 70%.
The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a signed copy of Tom Rosenbauer’s great book The Orvis Guide to Hatch Strategies: Successful Fly Fishing for Trout Without Always Matching the Hatch, from Universe Publishing. Instead of focusing on insect identification, in this book Tom stresses learning how to approach trout, how to find where they feed, and how to present the fly so it is accepted as natural food.
The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org), and recipient of a copy of Bruce Staples’s Fly Fishing the Greater Yellowstone Backcountry was Kurt S., whose score was a tad below average. Perhaps the book can help bring that up.
So post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great book.
