Take a Classic Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 07.06.17

Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got a classic quiz that will have you scratching your head, with ten questions about native fish ranges, entomology, book titles, and more.

The top-end scores on the last quiz showed a remarkable improvement, with four respondents achieving perfection. The 100-percent crowd included Steve, Stephen Fitch, Roger Bird, and Bigsteelie. There were six 90%s, and eleven 80%s, as well. However, the real shocker was that the most common score was a 30%. Hmmmmmm.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a really useful new book, Jason Randall’s Nymph Masters: Fly-Fishing Secrets from Expert Anglers, from Stackpole Books. This book is full of killer tips that will help you put more fish in the net.

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org), and recipient of Molly Semenik’s new book, 25 Best Off-the-Beaten-Path Montana Fly-Fishing Streams, was wayne n, whose score was nothing to write home about. But he still gets the prize!

So post your score below for a chance to win a great book.

Good luck!

Good thing I don’t do these quizzes for a living. I’d be at the poverty level.

  2. 30% Wow. Too bad I lost all my fly fishing books in our house fire in the beginning of June. And I had nine of Tom’s. Oh well! Time to go fishing!!!
