Take a Classic Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 09.22.16

Welcome to another edition of our sorta-kinda weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, it’s a classic quiz, featuring twenty (20!) questions about where famous trout rivers end up. In each of these questions, we want to know what river flows directly into another.

The last quiz turned out to be tougher than I thought, as there was just one perfect score, achieved by Michael Ohleger, who almost missed his home state. For the second week in a row, there were three respondents who scored 90%—John Petsch, Stephen Fitch, and Carl—and the most common score held steady at 50%!

Bob White’s fishing paintings make for a killer calendar.

The randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz will receive the gorgeous new The Art of Fly Fishing 2017 Calendar from artist Bob White, who has been featured on this blog before. He is also a former Trout Bum of the Week. Check out Bob’s work (and perhaps pick up a calendar) on his website.

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org) was Josh, who said of his rough score, “I second guessed myself on a few and it cost me.”

So post your score below for a chance at this awesome prize.

Good luck!

  1. 40% guessed on every single one!
I don’t know my stream names other than the ones I fish in the greatest state in America….PENNSYLVANIA

  2. 30% – The only ones I got right were in Colorado and Pennsylvania, which happen to be the two states I fish the most. Clearly I need to travel more.

  3. 35%, I am going to play the Canadian card here and say not bad for a foreigner, HAHA!
Does not look like many did well, it was a hard one!

  4. 55%. I will admit I got some help from my friend Google on the ones I had no idea at all about. And I did very poorly on the ones where I thought I had a clue. These are really hard.
