Take an All-New Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 05.04.17

Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got 10 new questions to make you scratch your head.

The last quiz could be the start of a serious winning streak; last week, there were 12 perfect scores, and this week, there are 13! Here are the perfect scorers: Stephen Fitch (again), Bob I., Chadmon Householder,Peter D, Bob T., Ben VanDinther, Joseph Batholomew, Daniel B, JST, Anton, Shoo-Fly, Mark Coleman, and David Fitch (no relation?). Strangely, there were just five 90% scores. The most common scores were also odd, as there were equal numbers of 80% and 50%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive an a copy of Tom Rosenbauer’s brand new, completely revised Orvis Fly-Fishing Guide. I edited this book, so I can assure you that it’s fabulous.

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org), and recipient of this wonderful tome was John Zimmer, whose score suggests he could benefit from Tom’s wisdom.

So post your score below for a chance to win a video that will help you become a better nymph fisherman.

Good luck!

  1. 60 % maintaining my average..just wanted to say thank you Phill for these little quizzes. don’t very often score high but they are enjoyable

  2. 100%!! And I was only certain of half of them and managed to guess correctly on the other five. My guesses nearly always fail me, maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.

  3. 70% … Not bad for a rookie! But worse given that I missed the “river runs through it” question and I watched it only 3 weeks ago.. details details details!

  4. 80%. I’ll be in Yellowstone and the Tetons this week! I guess I will learn first hand which river is the longest out of YNP.
