Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we offer 10 new questions that cover fly history, geography, and fish taxonomy.
The last quiz must have been a toughie, since there were no perfect scores and just two 90%s. Bravos for Dave F. and Nicholas Tsapatsaris. The most common score was a (gulp!) 40%. The questions that tripped up the most quiz-takers were about whether a tarpon is a herring (it isn’t) and how one pronounces Mallelo. (In Argentina, “ll” is pronounced with a “zh” sound).
The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive an Adams Family Fly Selection, featuring eight patterns.
The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org), and recipient of a Mayfly Lifecycle Fly Selection, was BillR, whose score was in the “most popular” range.
So post your score below for a chance to win a video that will help you become a better nymph fisherman.
