Take an All-New Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 09.07.17

Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. Here are another ten questions, ripped from the gray matter of the Quizmaster (or Googled-up in a panic.)

Our last quiz produced three perfect scores, up from just one the previous week, and all of them were first-time perfection. Peter D and his wife praised “teamwork!”; Jake wrote, “Finally! 100% It’s taken years.”; and Eric J said, “First perfect score! Woo hoo!” Just 4 people missed a single question, and the most common score fell to 50%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a signed copy of Charlie Craven’s Tying Nymphs: Essential Flies and Techniques for the Top Patterns, from Headwater Books.

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org), and recipient of a copy of Kirk Deeter’s Trout Tips, was Kenny, who was the very last to post his score. (See random.org screenshot below.)

So post your score below for a chance to win a great book.

Good luck!

  1. 80%. The river question stumped me. The fiberglass question could be debated. But hey! It’s all fun and games, and I learn a lot by doing these!

  2. I would really love to win this book so I thought I would give this quiz a go. I’m from South Africa so with limited knowledge of North American facts, I thought 30% wasn’t half bad
