Two Great New Issues of Online Fly-Fishing Magazines

New issues of Southern Culture on the Fly and Fly Fusion were released this week, and they offer plenty of entertaining articles, cool photographs, and high-definition videos. First up is the “Endless Summer of Squatch” number of SCOF, from south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Poor editor David Grossman, with tongue firmly in cheek, feels he must defend his love of trout against all those musky/carp/bass crazies that seem to be taking over the world. Plus there are articles or photo essays on baby tarpon, the joy of fishing farm ponds, and bonefish in the tropics.

Fly Fusion offers a more International take on the sport in this decidedly salty issue that will take you to Florida, Baja, Christmas Island, and The Bahamas. But one of the coolest articles is a behind-the-scenes at the recent film “Only the River Knows,” by frequent contributors Peter Christensen and Rolf Nylinder. Seeing what went into the film will make you appreciate its incredible fishing action even more. (Note: You need to subscribe to read the issue, but it’s free.)
