It’s every angler’s dream: a pod of big trout rising regularly in a nice, slow run. But we all find out pretty quickly that these fish can be extremely picky and wary. A poorly placed cast, a bit of micro drag, or a pattern one size too big or too small can doom you to failure. In this cool video from Spain, the angler seems to be having a problem getting the right presentation–in one shot, the leader is clearly making a loop around the fly–but persistence pays off in the form of a beautiful rainbow. There are some great shots of feeding trout that will certainly have you making imaginary casts of your own.
