Video: Epic Cicada Fishing on the Green River

Written by: Jared Zissu

Here’s a video to brighten up your Hump Day. Cicadas are the Big Macs of the insect world: large and extremely juicy. The folks from Troutsmith Films got out on Utah’s Green River just as the big bugs were starting to fly, and the trout were more than eager.

Last summer, I had the pleasure of fishing a cicada hatch for carp in Montana. Throwing a large hairy foam hopper 50 feet to a rising carp is right at the top of my list for favorite fishing moments. This video brought back some great memories.
