Video: Fly-Fishing California’s Sacramento-San Joachin Delta

The Delta Equation from Pacific Extremes on Vimeo.

The California Delta—where the Sacramento and San Joachin watersheds meet on their way to San Francisco Bay—is an incredibly diverse world of water where you can catch everything from bluegills to king salmon, depending on the time of year and water levels. In this video, “The Delta Equation,” California fly-fishing legend Ken Hanley shows off just some what’s available. I especially love that killer “walkin’-the-dog” action he gets on his topwater fly.

  1. Have you you every fished for salmon on the fly? I was thinking about trying my switch rod and swinging flies for them above Freeport bridge
