A trip to cast for Atlantic salmon is a bucket-list item for many fly fishers. But it’s a completely different game from the trout fishing you may be accustomed to. In this excellent video from The New Fly Fisher, Bill Spicer covers all the essentials to help any angler get started in fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon. He covers wet flies, dry flies, casts, reading water, presentation, leaders, and much more–all while he is visiting Newfoundland in search of fresh-run Atlantics.

I just returned from a trip to the Bonadventure River in Canada. Although the river is low right now it is the most beautiful stream I’ve ever fished & just a days drive from Maine. Caught a beautiful grand salmon & had an excellent 3rd generation guide, Reynold Arsenault. I highly recommend you put this on your bucket list.
