New Jersey fly tier Mike Appello borrowed elements from both Jack Gartside’s Soft Hackle Streamer and Ken Abrames’s Flatwing saltwater flies to create the slim and flashy Allison Streamer. The pattern imitates a variety of baitfish, especially trout or salmon fry, which are often plentiful in the spring.
In this great video by Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions, author and blogger Matt Grobert demonstrates how to tie this cool, elegant pattern.
