Summer is the slow season for Louisiana redfish, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of fish for fly-rodders to chase. As this video shows, the fishing for jacks can be insane, as these big predators pursue schools of baitfish, blitzing on the poor buggers in violent fashion. When the big jacks are all amped up, they’ll chase poppers across the surface, and some of the strikes here are truly savage. And once a jack is hooked, it’s a bear to land, as well.
