Classic Video: Notes from the Road . . . in the Rockies

Back in 2017, Chase and Aimee Bartee, a.k.a. Tight Loops, loaded up the Westy and headed in that very direction, leaving their home in Massachusetts and visiting some of the best trout waters in the Rockies–as well as a few out-of-the-way waters. They kept a journal called “Notes from the Road” on their website, and now they’ve released a typically gorgeous accompanying video. I especially loved the little graphics touches and the underwater footage.

  1. The video really captures a sense of place and offers a powerful statement for preserving public lands. In addition, the creators saw fit to actually identify a fly pattern and film the fly’s presentation. Thank you.

  2. Definitely one of the best videos I’ve seen. Best part: minimal music–lots of nature’s sounds–really makes for a different and visceral atmosphere. Well done.
