Here’s a great short video from the folks at Scumliner Media about fishing Montana’s Missouri River in winter. A bunch of us fished the Mo last April, right after the Orvis Guide Rendezvous, in less-than-ideal conditions. Despite the fact that it was mid-April, the weather was bitterly cold, the wind was blowing hard, and it snowed for most of the day. I remember coveting Mark Raisler’s US Ski Team jacket, which seemed extremely puffy and warm.
We’ll be back in Craig after this year’s OGR, and I’m hoping things will be a bit more seasonal.

Blizzards in April (or May) are totally seasonal weather in MT. June snows are very much a thing.
But, yes, definitely hoping for balmy weather this year!
Simply amazing. I love winter fishing, especially back home on the spring creeks of the midwest.
