For anglers who just want to get on the water without having to mess with complex setups–only to untangle them a few casts later–Joe Rotter of Red’s Fly Shop has some great advice on creating a simple, one-fly nymph rig. During his demonstration, he also gives some great tips on reading water, and on casting this setup without the need for a prior false-cast, which further reduces the chance of tangles. Not to spoil anything, but it turns into an impromptu lesson on fighting a stubborn trout about halfway through, which really sells the whole concept that “simple is awesome.”
Always love fly fishing the simple way. K.I.S.S ( keep it simple silly ) Thank You
