Our friends at Scientific Anglers have produced an excellent series of casting-instruction videos hosted by two modern masters: Bruce Richards and Jeff Wagner. Richards was the longtime head fly-line designer for Scientific Anglers and is responsible for some of the major developments in fly-line technology over the past three decades. Wagner is an award-winning competition caster, a field editor for Fly Fusion, and he’s been a player in the outdoors industry for many years. (His wife, Kathleen, is also a decorated tournament caster. #5050onthewater)
Check out the entire series for tons of great tips from the simple Pick-Up-and-Lay-Down to the more advanced Double Haul.

Pretty good, but Pete Kutzer’s videos are better!
I really enjoyed this series. The photography and graphics are excellent. It may be a little too advanced for a total beginner but should help a lot of beginners move on, spark some interest for those interested, and it gave me, an intermediate to advanced caster a lot of useful tips. I wrote several down to think about and try out. Thank you Orvis for your contribution to these free excellent videos. I like Pete too, he’s great, but its good to get some different perspectives and instructors to keep advancing. I shared the link on my Facebook page…
