In the past few months, we’ve posted a great new video series called “Getting Started in Fly Fishing,” from Brian Flechsig of Mad River Outfitters in Columbus, Ohio. Now, they’ve launched a new series called “Q&A.” It’s a pretty self-explanatory title, methinks.
In episode #5, Flechsig answers the question “How do I stop wind knots?” As most of us know, wind ain’t the problem. Instead Flechsig focuses on “rod creep” and tailing loops. His demonstration will help you improve your cast and avoid tying your leader or tippet in knots.

Brian,
Loved the video. Finally it’s been simply explained. Always entertaining. Always spot-on.
Thanks, very helpful.
Nice job, Brian. Hope all is well.
Tight lines.

Simple and easy to understand videos. I am an old timer that is still learning. Thanks for the imfo.
Many thanks Brian for your lucid explanation.
Can you pause too long on the back cast?
Thanks in anticipation, HH.
