Video: Sea-Run Bulls (?) on BC’s Pitt River

Here’s a gorgeous, dreamy video from River & Salt, focused on a trip to British Columbia’s Pitt River for sea-run bull trout and Chinook salmon. Until I watched this, I had never heard of sea-run bulls, assuming that those fish were actually dolly varden. A little chat with Dr. Google confirmed that some bull trout do migrate to the sea, wandering a bit before returning to their natal streams. Cool stuff. Anyone have any experience with this?

  1. I’ve caught Bull trout in the Squamish River that are also sea run. I’ve actually caught them right at the mouth of the river where it flows into the ocean (IN THE SALT WATER).
