Video: The Joys of Big Fish on Fiberglass

Our good friends from Alberta, Dave and Amelia Jensen, have been big fans of Orvis Superfine Glass rods ever since they first saw them at the 2014 Orvis Guide Rendezvous. But because they fish for lots of really big fish–both trout and northern pike–they were especially stoked to discover the new 8-foot, six-inch 6-weight version that’s just been released. As you’ll see from the video above, they put the rod through its paces.

The Superfine Glass 866-3 has the same materials and taper as the other rods in the line, but it also features a full-Wells grip and a small fighting butt for when you really need to put the screws to a big fish. The rod is so new that it doesn’t even have a product page on the Orvis website, but if you can’t wait, you can buy one here.
