Video: Tom Brokaw on Lefty Kreh and a Fly-Fishing Life

Back in April, Tom Brokaw received the 2015 American Museum of Fly Fishing Heritage Award during a ceremony at the Racquet & Tennis Club in New York City. Brokaw has been one of fly fishing’s celebrities for a long time, and his appearance on the Pirates of the Flats and Buccaneers and Bones TV shows put him in the company of such luminaries as Lefty Kreh, Thomas McGuane, and Yvon Chouinard. In his acceptance speech (above), he tells a couple of great stories about fishing with Lefty, describes a more sobering experience in which fly fishing served as a healing process, and ends with a self-deprecating tale of pride before the fall.
