The body of an essay is where the writer develops and argues their ideas. Its main goal is to present information and analyze sources in a clear, informative manner. The body usually makes up sixty to eighty percent of the essay. It may be as simple as three paragraphs for 500 word essay or as long as eight to ten pages for a 6,000-word essay. Remember that the body of an essay should flow naturally.
