Although the huge releases of fresh water from Lake Okeechobee have stopped for the time being, the issues that plagued the Florida coast this year remain. Here’s a great video from The Weather Channel that offers an in-depth look at the history of water policy in South Florida and its devastating effects. If you wondered just how serious the algae blooms are, this video offers some shocking scenes. There’s tons more information at the Toxic Lake website.
