Here’s a cool video from Argentina that documents a unique annual event: In some rivers in northern Patagonia, wasp larvae feed on willow leaves, which means that some of the insects end up falling into slow, crystal-clear pools. The trout are waiting for them, which creates great sight-fishing opportunities very close to shore. There are some great eats and rainbows in the air in this video from Andes Drifters.

Wow…now I can honestly say I use the green weenie to match the hatch (even though I doubt we have the Patagonia Willow Leaf Eating Wasp Larvae in Western PA).
