Win a New Recon Fly Rod in Our “New Season” Photo Contest!

Some of my favorites from 2019 (clockwise from top): Sandy Hays searching for smallmouths at Hawk Lake Lodge, a perfect end to a hot summer day on a mountain stream, and a surprise rainbow caught while popping for largemouths on a Vermont lake.

In those states with closed fishing seasons, Opening Day is fast approaching–it’s April 11 here in Vermont–so we’re celebrating with a great photo contest on Instagram and Facebook. If you’ve got a great fly-fishing image from last season, then you can win one of three great prizes. Let’s fill the social medias with great fly-fishing photos!

Here’s how it works:

1. Find your best fly-fishing picture from 2019. You must be the owner of the image–meaning you took it.

2. Post your photo to the Orvis Fly Fishing Facebook page or to Instagram with the hashtag #NewSeasonRecon. (You must use the hashtag to be eligible!)

We will accept submissions from today through Thursday, April 2. After the contest closes, we’ll go through all the photos posted and pick 10 finalists. Then we’ll let you vote for the three winners!

Here are the prizes:

First Place: A Recon Fly Rod of your choice.

The redesigned Recons are made-in-the-USA high-performance rods at mid-range prices.

Second Place: Mirage LT Reel of your choice.

The Mirage LT is everything its big brother is, but designed to balance perfectly with lighter rods.

Third Place: Hydros Trout Fly Line of your choice.

This is the most versatile weight-forward trout line in the Hydros Fly Line Series.

We’ll also give a pair of Orvis Nippers to one randomly selected voter at the end of the voting.

So let’s see your best photos of dads on the water, in the woods, and more!

The sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the USA who are 18 or older. (We apologize to our readers in Canada and overseas; Click here for an explanation of why we have to do this.)
