Fly fishing, women, and wine: they go well together. Ever wanted to learn more about the quiet sport of fly fishing? The Virginia Fly Fishing Festival (April 21-22, 2012 in Waynesboro, Virginia) is offering a Women’s Fly Fishing Forum hosted by well-known lady angler Wanda Taylor. This forum, open to all festival goers, came about as a direct result of the strong showing of women anglers at the festival over the past few years. The forum will cover variety of topics such as gear and appropriate clothing selection, personal health and wellness, and proper body mechanics.
If you’re an experienced lady angler, a beginner, or just curious, this is the place to be. The forum will be held at noon each day at the Herring Alliance Tent, and seating is limited. The handpicked speakers for this unique program include Mid-Atlantic Fly Fishing columnist Tracey Stroup; fly-fishing guide Kiki Gavin; Mollie Simpkins, a representative for Casting For Recovery; along with Abby Jackson, owner of Blackhawk Fly Fishing Lodge in Georgia.
After you have learned all you need to know about fly fishing, you can visit over 40 exhibitors who will offer the latest in fishing gear and clothing. Fish art, fishing guides, and an array of fly tyers will be onsite. Learn how to cast by taking a casting class.
Then, take some time to sample wines from Virginia wineries and listen to live music on the grounds.
So, bring your friends and family and come spend the day with us at the 12th annual Virginia Fly Fishing Festival. Check out all the details on our website.
