Highland Hills Ranch, located in north-central Oregon, was recently named 2012 Orvis Wingshooting Lodge of the Year at an event held in Key Largo, Florida. This is the second time that Highland Hills Ranch has been awarded this honor, making it only the second two-time winner. This award is based on guest reviews, which allow customers to evaluate and rate their sporting experience.
Highland Hills Ranch offers the rare opportunity to hunt the “Grand Slam of Wingshooting”: pheasant, chukar, Hungarian Partridge, and valley quail. With thousands of acres managed entirely for upland-bird habitat, the combination of native grasses, milo, corn, and grains creates the most diverse wingshooting you will ever experience. The season runs from September through March, with no bag limit. At the heart of the property is the 10,000-square foot lodge, where guests can relax and enjoy fine wines to the perfect backdrop of stunning and scenic views.
Congratulations to Dennis and Mindi Macnab and their team at Highland Hills Ranch. For more information, visit the Highland Hills Ranch website.

Having recently returned from an annual October trip to Highland Hill Ranch, it seems to continue to improve each year. I think this is my seventh year of enjoying this wonderful place with our group “Hunting for Answers”. The lodge hits on all of what one expects for an Upland Bird Shooting experience. The property is perfectly maintained and provides some of the most accommodating and competent trainer/guides found anywhere. The habitat for game birds offers a variety of hunting options for Chucker, Pheasants, Quail and Hungarian Partridge. The facility is beautiful and staffed with a group that always makes one feel welcome. That, plus wonderful food & wine, that keeps improving, as well as the McNabbs presence makes for an experience which is difficult to duplicate anywhere else.
