Los Ombues Lodge in Entre Rios Province, Argentina, is the first wingshooting lodge to receive Orvis’s International Lodge of the Year award. The award is based on customer feedback sent to Orvis and reflects customers’ recent experiences at a sporting destination. Carlos Sanchez and his associates at Los Ombues cater to Orvis customers who travel to hunt ducks, doves, and perdiz on their 37,000-acre property bordering the Parana River. Those customers routinely rave about the high quality of the shooting, the guides and the accommodations. The lodge was designed from the ground up as a shooting lodge and isn’t an estancia adapted for shooting guests, as is the norm in Argentina. Los Ombues sports a fine appointed gun room, wine cellar, and air-conditioned rooms.
Plus it’s located in some of South America’s best duck country. Los Ombues is one of the few lodges that offers top-shelf duck and perdiz shooting and the famous high volume dove hunts. Their duck season is April through August, a season that peaks when there’s no duck hunting available in North America. Dove shooting is not an afterthought, and much of it is done right on the property. The lodge leases another 120,000 acres to ensure high quality dove shooting year round.
Congratulations to Carlos Sanchez and his team at Los Ombues Lodge!
