Upland Photo: Opening Day!

Written by: Karen Syron, Flying B Ranch

This is a photo of our very first upland hunt in the 2022 season, back in August. To beat the heat of a warm, extended summer, we began hunts at 5 a.m. with these guests so that our dogs could hunt hard (the only way they hunt) without jeopardizing their health. Despite hunting along a creek and with multiple water troughs to dip dogs, it can be too warm early in the day. We have been hunting in this canyon since 1985 and learned to adapt to conditions and weather to maintain the best hunting experience for our guests. And early mornings mean spectacular skies. This photo was taken by General Manager and guide, Jeremi Syron of his GSP’s Chewy and daughter Dot.
