Video: Ptarmigan and Grouse Hunting in Norway

Here’s some very cool hunting footage from the mountains of Norway, featuring whitetailed ptarmigan, willow ptarmigan, and black grouse. Apparently, grouse hunting is the most common shooting field sport in Norway, making up 90% of all hunting trips. The country is certainly gorgeous, but it looks like you might have to do some cardio training to get in shape for this kind of workout.

For this kind of hunting, you need a hardy dog.

  1. Super awesome. Reminded me that–oh yeah–I bought a bird dog! She will be young but should hunt this fall, and I am getting in touch with some quail suppliers here in Georgia so I can get her started.

  2. I think that has incredible landscapes and a great variety of flora and fauna to offer. This video about Norway sustains my belief. I would like to go hunting there one day.
