Honoring and Supporting Those Who Have Served

Teams from our Sandestin, Florida, and Sevierville, Tennessee stores celebrate PHWFF.

Today, we observe Veterans Day as a way to show our gratitude to those who have served our nation as members of the Armed Forces. Orvis is proud to partner with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing through fundraising and events at stores across the country.

Kelly Bales, store manager of Orvis Sevierville (TN) writes:

We were honored to partner with our local chapter of Project Healing Waters during this past Orvis Give Back Days. Our fishing manager, Jeremey Kwasney (a military Veteran), has formed a fantastic relationship with the organization, and when it came time to choose a partner for the event, we jumped at the chance. We have seen and heard firsthand the amazing results of Project Healing Waters, and we have customers who have benefited from the trips and classes.

As part of Orvis Sandestin’s commitment, store manager Brandy Cook facilitated a recent three-hour casting clinic for the local PHW chapter by securing the location used for instruction, providing refreshments for the students and instructors, and donating gift bags. She also made available gear and fly lines for the event. Through the last four events at the store, Orvis Sandestin customers have helped donate more than $15,500 to PHW.

Other stores working with PHW include Westlake and Woodmere in Ohio and , Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
